About the Role

The Formulation Specialist is responsible for the evaluation, optimization, and development of nutraceutical formulas throughout the entire product lifecycle from concept through full-scale manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, safety guidelines, SOPs, and cGMP standards, meeting all operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate existing formulas and assist in the development and improvement of new formulations for nutraceutical and dietary supplement products.
  • Conduct data collection, analysis, and reporting using Information Management Systems, Quality Management Systems, or other internal reporting tools.
  • Support the evaluation and qualification of new and alternate raw materials, focusing on quality improvement, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, production, and packaging departments to identify, communicate, and resolve quality assurance or process issues.
  • Continuously monitor equipment setup, performance, and operational parameters, ensuring smooth process transitions between shifts.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with cross-functional teams, management, and external stakeholders to ensure project alignment and timely execution.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience in nutraceutical or pharmaceutical formulation, R&D, or product development.

  • Strong working knowledge of solid dosage formulation, sampling, testing techniques, and dosage form development.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical and nutraceutical manufacturing equipment, including mixers, granulators, tablet presses, and encapsulation machines.
  • Competence in data analysis, problem-solving, and root cause investigation related to formulation and production.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and formulation-related databases.

  • Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
