About the Role

Responsible for the execution of tasks to ensure our products meet or exceed specified quality standards. Create new programs for new and existing injection molded plastic parts on the Nikon Alto 6.5.4 CMM using the CMM-Manager software. Also responsible for running the CMM with existing programs and performing full inspection layouts utilizing other measurement devices other than CMM.

Responsibilities

  • Program and operate the Nikon CMM, write and edit programs for any part using CMM-Manager Measurement software.
  • Assists Quality Engineer with dimensional rejections.
  • Performs first article inspection and capability studies as required for new parts and projects.
  • Perform inspection on received parts.
  • Analyze CMM data and prepare dimensional reports for internal and customer review.
  • Troubleshoot CMM programming or equipment issues and coordinate maintenance or calibration when necessary.
  • Use measurement instruments to check and verify your own work and the work of others as required.
  • Work from drawings, charts or specifications to perform mechanical and functional checks using a variety of precision measuring devices. Prepare layout set-up and other inspection methods as necessary.
  • Responsible for the company gage calibration.

Requirements

  • CMM Manager Software programming
  • CAD data
  • Bilingual
  • Strong GDIT skills
  • Strong skills in interpretation of drawing
  • Collaboration approach
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Technical School graduate or equivalent work experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Experience measuring injection molded plastic parts.
  • Extensive GD & T knowledge is a must.
  • 5+ years' experience with CMM Programming (Software-CMM Manager preferred).
  • 5+ years' experience utilizing various precision measuring tools such as Vision System, optical comparators, inside, outside, and depth micrometers, height gauges, plug gauges, Vernier calipers, gauge blocks and programmable inspection instruments.
  • Willing to work additional hours if necessary
  • Must be fluent in English language, Spanish preferred.
  • Follows all Occupational Safety and Health Policies and Procedures. Reports any
  • Safety deficiency to immediate supervisor.
  • Follows Human Resources Policies and Procedures.
  • Understands and comply with all Departmental Quality Policies and Procedures.
